Business Planning Analyst- Hibbett

As our planning analyst you'll develop seasonal assortment plans and manage in-season performance to maximize growth & profitability targets for Nike and our retailers. 

 

Pre-season

·         Lead sales data collection & management processes to ensure uninterrupted flow of reliable data from account; work closely with the account and key stakeholders to improve data visibility, accuracy and frequency

·         Support the development of item-level plans by analyzing PY season results; provide insights from analysis to key internal/external stakeholders to influence pre-season planning

·         Conduct research to proactively identify trends and other relevant business insights; turn insights into actionable and quantifiable opportunities

·         Support the reconciliation of item plans to topline financial targets; identify gaps and make recommendations to resolve

·         Manage tools & processes for analyzing & forecasting the business

In-season

·         Provide weekly reporting of business results; generate exception reports and make timely & relevant recommendations

·         Track key styles and identify additional sales opportunities; ensure appropriate inventory levels for key styles at door/class level

·         Track results against plan and reforecast to identify risks/opportunities; provide fact-based analysis to drive sales and profit for Nike and the retailer

Post-season

·         Support the development of robust hindsighting reporting

·         Analyze business performance to influence future season planning

·         Provide ad hoc analysis and reporting as required by the business

Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Sales, Fashion, Marketing or a related field

·         2 years' experience in Buying, Planning, Allocation and/or Vendor Sales for a multi-store retailer; 2 years' additional experience in lieu of a degree

·         Solid understanding of retail metrics

·         Ability to create monthly reports, style-level sales plans, track promotional calendar/events and pre-meeting prep

·         Strong and demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, both verbal and written

·         Experience in developing an understanding of customers, competitors and retail trends; knowledge of sports apparel and footwear market preferred

·         Ability to interpret financial sales data to make decisions and recommendations that impact the business

·         Strong knowledge of MS office applications; proficiency in Excel including creating spreadsheets, complex formulas, pivot tables, etc

·         Experience with planning software/tools and merchandise management systems is preferred

·         Ability to work in a matrix environment with multiple business functions

·         Strong team player and ability to work with the cross functional partners and senior management on all aspects of the business
