INTRODUCTION
Comcast's Advanced Advertising Products and Strategy Group, part of the Engineering and Platform Services Division, is helping to define the future of video advertising across Comcast's footprint and beyond. Our goal is to grow the video advertising marketplace by delivering the technology to enable multi-platform (TV, DVR, VOD, Online, Mobile), data-driven campaigns for Comcast and other distributors and programmers.We work closely with other areas of Comcast to achieve our goals, including Spotlight, the market leading local ad sales division of Comcast, FreeWheel, the leading multi-platform video advertising technology, STRATA, a top software provider for the buying and selling of all media, and Comcast Marketing.
Role Summary
Responsible for supporting the leadership of the Advanced Advertising Product and Strategy (AAPS) team in identification and execution of advertising technology and ad sales strategy in support of Comcast's Advanced Advertising LRP. In particular, supporting the group's partnership with Comcast Spotlight, Comcast's $2bn+ advertising business, and other key internal Comcast audiences, such as our Technology and Product development organization through tracking and communication of key business objectives. Responsibilities also to include tracking key strategic developments across Spotlight's relevant markets, supporting monthly, quarterly and annual strategy sessions with Spotlight and Platform Services leadership, and other strategic communication tasks as may be required. A successful candidate will also develop the ability to recommend and develop ad sales and advertising technology opportunities or to take ownership over those generated from other sources.
Core Responsibilities
- Provides executive-level support of the group VP and direct reports on financial and strategic planning projects for the different areas of Comcast's advertising businesses (e.g., local and national advertising, digital vs. traditional advertising, related advertising technologies)
- Responsible for supportive analytics and materials, including pulling research, drafting presentations, creating charts and graphs from financial and market data
- Perform and aggregate various industry research using Wall Street reports, analyst materials, reports from research firms, etc. to drive business strategy and decision-making
- Keep current on all important news/trends
- Provides consistent competitive analysis
- Creation of business cases, financial models, risk assessments and related qualitative and quantitative materials to support various strategic opportunities across the advertising ecosystem
- Contributes to business development and partnership discussions, including distribution, technology/product, content and monetization deals. Recommends strategic actions. Conducts business development discussions with potential partners.
- Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
- 10-15% travel may be required.

Education Level: Bachelors Degree minimum; Masters Degree preferred
Field of Study: Business, Finance, Advertising/Media, Corporate Strategy
Years of Experience: Generally requires 7+ years related experience
- Experience with Corporate Strategy or Strategic Planning in the Media and Advertising Industry
- Experience in a research or strategy role for a Programmer, MVPD, or Local Broadcast company
- Experience with market research, data visualization, and financial modeling
