Job Overview:

  • The Business Manager is responsible for supporting sales, margin, turn and growth by ensuring clear communication between Omni DMM and key stakeholders in Digital, Omni Merchandise Planning, Omni Inventory Planning, Omni Financial Planning, Marketing, Store Execution and Visual.
  • Responsible to ensure clean execution of collaborative activities across multiple functions
  • Key Liaison between Omni DMM and all Buying, Planning, Marketing, Store Execution and Visual at division level.

Essential Functions:

  • Oversee, manage and coordinate communication to and from Omni DMM to key stakeholders: Digital DMM, Omni Buyers, Omni Inventory Planning, Omni Financial Planning, Omni Merchandise Planning, Marketing, Store Execution, Visual:
    • In season changes to execution
    • Selling recaps and actions
    • Strategy preparation
    • Ensure unified, cohesive and professional “voice” of the function in all communication and interaction
  • Lead the function on assortment planning and optimization process:
    • Collaborate with the Omni and Digital team to develop seasonal Merchandise strategies
    • Prepare and present analysis for projects
    • Develop best practices and training disciplines for Omni Buying and Planning teams
    • Style out recommendations and inspection of follow-up
    • Store visit and competitive shopping action plans
  • Take the lead in preparing and coordinating communication on execution needs:
    • Zone o grams
    • District newsletters
    • Visual turn-ins
  • Prepare, coordinate and vet product style outs, presentations, forms, sample procurement:
    • Strategy presentations
    • Visual turn-in
    • Post Market Style outs
    • Customer Favorites, Star Gifts, WOW
  • Coordinate, prepare and validate market documentation and asks:
    • Ensure coordinated Omni/Digital requests
    • Validate co-op needs and requests and reconcile to seasonal and monthly targets
    • Coordinate vendor card preparation between digital, Omni, cross category
  • Lead communication, validate content and enforce deadline compliance among key stakeholders: Digital DMM, Omni Buyers, Omni Inventory Planning, Omni Financial Planning, Omni Merchandise Planning, Marketing, Store Execution, Visual:
    • Marketing turn-ins and Style outs
    • Sample procurement
    • Strategy
    • Preseason and in season financial inputs
    • Co-op submission
  • Ensure communication of in season pricing and marketing changes:
    • Between Omni DMM and Digital DMM
    • Between Omni Buyers and Digital MerchantsBetween Pricing and Omni Financial Planning
  • Develop skills necessary for advancement
    • Develop analysis to understand all significant variances to plan and develop action plans to address
    • Develop ability to influence all levels of the organization
    • Coordinate, train and mentor Omni Associate and Assistant Buyers in execution of select operational and administrative activities

Qualifications:
Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3 years retail buying/planning experience
  • Ability to manage people
  • Advanced computer skills  including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Exhibits high standards and accountability; takes pride in accuracy
  • Seeks to be the leader, wants to be in a position of influence
