National Sales Specialist

  • Account Set up – ensures timely and effective set up of unique client accounts, coordinating with division and the Tempe contract office, to ensure that the proper incentives, payouts and vendor agreements are applied on a consistent and on-going basis. Ensure on-going consistency through regular audits.
  • Communicate client-critical updates, needs and actions across a large array of stakeholders including; TM’s, DSM’s, VP’s etc
  • Work closely with division and corporate purchasing teams to track, assess and troubleshoot inventory issues, ensuring inventory planning is at optimum levels.
  • Oversee tracking and payout of incentive payments and ensure application of in-force vendor agreements with contract team in the Tempe office.
  • Continue to look at ways of standardizing and centralizing resources to facilitate better account management from the client office independently (without requesting additional field resources i.e. the Divisions or Directors); though maintain proactive communication and asserting client ownership. 
  • Collaborate with the divisions and corporate office to ensure correct pricing and incentives package to customer. Coordinate any audits between division and NCA Dept.
  • Create and present high level reporting utilizing our Data Warehouse (Discoverer), Oracle based Business Analytics, Prime, Prism, Merlin, Access, and Excel. 
  • Provide high-level quarterly business reviews utilizing, Reporting tools, PowerPoint, Merlin, and Excel. 
  • Communicating with clients' to help facilitate the handling of any concerns or issues that arise. 
  • Assist NCA Coordinator in procuring expiring vendor contracts by the 15th of the previous month. 
  • Receive and maintain record vendor contracts from customers and forward to the corporate NCA department. 
  • Working with divisions and corporate to ensure correct pricing to the customer.  Coordinate any audits between divisions and NCA Department. 
  • Serve as day to day contact for customers with trouble shooting issues identified with reporting, Limited Time Offers, Inventory Management and other similar processes that US Foods delivers as a Service
  • Develop new business; identify prospective customers by utilizing market intelligence databases, as well as business directories, following leads from existing clients, participating in organizations and clubs, and attending trade shows and conferences.
  • Participate in division activities (e.g., sales meetings, food shows, promotion programs) in order to promote sales, increase product knowledge, and maintain good customer relations.
  •  Prepare sales budgets and reports, maintaining sales records, preparing price quotes and menu suggestions, and filing reports as it pertains to assigned clients.

Education/Training:  College Degree Preferred or equivalent work experience  

 

Related Experience:  Minimum 4 years customer service, sales or contract compliance experience required.  Foodservice experience preferred. 

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: 

Required

Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint required. 

Ability to multi-task and be a self-starter. 

Excellent written and verbal communication skills required. 

Ability to proficiently utilize an array of standard and proprietary systems.

Must be able to communicate effectively throughout all levels of the organization and customers.

Preferred but not required

Experience with Microsoft Access products
