Role Mission

To serve as a key member of the Finance team to ensure the accurate and integral reporting of the financial statements of the North American region to Gucci Division headquarters, in addition to departmental stakeholders and external/internal auditors. The main role of the Financial Analyst is to support the management of Corporate and Marcomm expenses, budgeting and reporting, as well as store personnel cost control. This includes executing the month end close, analyzing, reconciling and accruing expenses, preparing reporting weekly and monthly to be dispatched to senior management.

 

The Financial Analyst candidate should be familiar with expense reconciliations and analysis and should have experience with budgeting processes as well as month end closing.

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide all necessary analytical support to Corporate and marketing communications cost centers.
  • Provide support to the projection and analysis of store personnel cost.
  • Monitor financial performance, highlight trends across key performance indicators and analyze any substantial variances in order to understand the underlying causes.
  • Participate in the Budget/Forecast process for Corporate and marketing communications cost centers and store personnel cost.
  • Provide guidance to budget holders in terms of expenses and closely work with them to control costs.
  • Maintain and develop custom monthly reporting to be shared directly with budget holders.
  • Analyze complex financial information and provide timely and accurate financial recommendations to management for decision making purposes.
  • Maintain a rolling projection model for budgeting purposes at the cost center/expense line/account level to be used in the bi-annual budget/forecast processes.
  • Assist in the development or improvement of internal controls and corporate procedures.
  • Review vendor invoice payments, wires, and T&E’s to ensure proper coding, authorization and budgetary approval, and adherence to company policy.
  • Process month-end journal entries for the assigned cost centers.
  • Prepare month-end variance analysis for Actual vs. Budget/Forecast.
  • Prepare requested data and/or sampling requests for internal and external auditors.
  • Work on special projects as assigned; prepare executive level presentations and ad hoc reporting.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 3-5 years working experience.
  • Experience in Retail accounting a plus.
  • International experience (working or study abroad) a plus.
  • Eager to learn, dedicated, diligent, highly organized, and reliable.
  • Friendly, positive, and highly motivated.
  • Strong Excel and computer skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work longer hours during month end closes.
  • Able to work with autonomy, without direct supervision and in a flexible schedule required.
  • Teamwork skills a must.
