The Connect@ Macy’s Specialist is an exceptional associate whose primary function is to drive sales by connecting with clients, role modeling MAGIC selling throughout the store. This associate’s responsibility is to create an enhanced shopping experience through the use of mobile devices to drive sales by helping the customer find exactly what they are looking for, and by providing one on one service throughout the store; creating lasting relationships using the My Client tool. This associate develops relationships with clients and creates appointments with customers interested in shopping with them throughout the store. They are results oriented and must be able to develop and maintain client relationships. Their secondary responsibility is to represent Connect @ Macy’s by serving the BOPS customer and assisting all customers with their needs. They utilize all available tools such as tablets and kiosks, customer reviews, look books, etc. to accommodate the customer and drive sales. Has a can do attitude and is not satisfied with the status quo. Perform other duties customer facing, as needed.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide an exceptional customer experience by ensuring the customer is always the priority
  • Proactive in encouraging customers to use devices to shop and compare, whether Macy’s devices or their own to drive sales
  • Leverage product knowledge and digital resources (product descriptions, customer reviews, etc.) to increase sales by educating and assisting customers and expanding their merchandise options to enable the best choice
  • Effectively develops and maintains relationships with associates throughout the store in order to problem solve and create the best possible outcome for the customer
  • Communicates and provides customer feedback daily with VPSM and SMs of key areas in order to create a better customer experience
  • Collaborate with Sales Managers on key trends, leveraging technology and product knowledge
  • Shares customer feedback with Senior Leadership on store visits
  • Conducts outreach to best customers utilizing appointment schedule tools
  • Executes in store events, supports local marketing and social media strategies
  • Suggests go together items for customers during BOPS pick-ups and promotes in store events
  • Serve as role model for peers and mentor for new hires on Product Knowledge, My Client and use of mobile devices to generate incremental sales
  • Demonstrate a professional, can-do attitudeMaintain high customer readiness standards: deliver a clean, neat and easy-to-shop environment
    Proficient in POS and MPOS systems including Search and Send, My Client and More@Macy’s tablet app
  • Ensure shortage prevention initiatives are executed
  • Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience:

  • High School degree or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 1 year previous Selling or retail experience required.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Self-starter, able to work independently and as part of a team and must have good time Management skills.
  • Demonstrates ability to build relationships and convert customers into a client.

Communication Skills:

  • Ability to effectively communicate and present information to customers, peers and all levels of management.

Mathematical Skills:

  • Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction and calculating percentages

Physical Demands:

  • This position involves constant moving and standing. Involves standing a minimum of two consecutive hours. 
  •  Involves lifting at least 30 lbs.
  • May occasionally be required to stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb ladders.
  • May involve reaching above eye level.

Other Skills:

  • Use of computers, mobile devices, and frequent use of RF equipment.

Work Hours:

  • Flexible with scheduling and available to work retail hours, which may include day, evening, weekends, and/or holidays.
