Sales Manager, Women\'s Footwear - Gucci

Role Mission

Responsible for managing and growing all specialty store accounts, as well as department store, franchisee & e-commerce accounts for the entire Gucci Women’s footwear category.  Must effectively build collaborative relationships with clients & communicate the Gucci strategy.

 

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Responsible for the women's footwear category. Understand the challenges and opportunities before mapping a strategic growth plan for business
  • Work with VP to achieve proper & ideal distribution. Identify and communicate ongoing trends & market needs to merchandising in Italy
  • Cascade down company information to direct reports and ensure all members of the team are well aware of corporate directives, strategies, initiatives & expectations
  • Coordinate the market calendar with Italy and partner with accounts/customers to obtain sales plans before market; obtain orders in a timely basis after market
  • Present and sell the collection in-market to accounts. Manage client assortments / sku levels & selection / to make sure the brand integrity is upheld
  • Work closely with VP on the strategic process of budget preparation based on sell through, gross margins, inventory, shipping and competition
  • Track and update budget templates for VP, Planning and Finance – ensure orders are in line with projections & corporate sales targets
  • Review & analyze weekly delivery by category & client to understand our logistics flow position. Review by styles to pinpoint opportunities & challenges within each category
  • Manage and maintain the department weekly sales flash. Monthly review of market share to benchmark our position / trend to DOS
  • Liaise with Italy corporate image on all photography and styling to ensure timely delivery of content for client websites
  • Maintain client e-commerce websites. Check for accuracy of product images and descriptions as well as flow of visual merchandising
  • Oversee strategic client initiatives – summits / trainings / contests / shop renovations
  • Liaise with Gucci visual, store planning, training & marketing to align our wholesale efforts with respective department timelines & projects
  • Build collaborative relationships with Gucci employees in the US and at HQ level, as well as outside clients
  • Oversee DSA Program – costs / bonuses / competitive package / results
  • Conduct store visits followed by shared recap with wholesale team and executives on opportunities/challenges in respective market 
  • Coordinate with accounts’ marketing departments to promote brand image by forwarding current strategies, advertising campaigns, and press releases
  • Manage with VP all coop requests and advertising selections by account and by category
  • Partner with Customer Service to ensure timely shipments, EDI transmission and pricing adjustments
  • Liaise with DOS on orders, selling, and distribution to better understand their strategy and how this could be implemented or used positively in wholesale

Job Requirements

  • 7-8 years of previous relevant experience
  • Strong Excel and retail math skills
  • Ability to speak in public and in front of large groups of people (summit, market, etc.)
  • Keen understanding and awareness of the competitive environment
  • Domestic and international travel including four to six visits per year to Italy for market, as well as seasonal store visit travel in the US and Canada.  Additional trips may arise as well
  • Ability to create ad hoc analyses, strategies & PowerPoint presentations as needed
