Role Mission

Gucci’s DIY (Do It Yourself) service further advances the brand's philosophy of personal expression while fusing our values of craftsmanship, innovation and Made in Italy. The service provides customizable options with finishes and details and allows for personalization according to the client’s individual needs in Ready-to-Wear, Shoes and Leathergoods. 

The Manager's role is to ensure the finest execution of delivering this service by empowering a team of specialists throughout the Gucci retail network. This begins by efficiently implementing new offerings and initiatives from the worldwide headquarters and developing/executing regional level strategies, collaborating with cross-functional partners. Then, following through to exceed all financial/KPI targets to meet the company’s ROI goals within this service.



Key Accountabilities

  • Responsible for providing market expertise, filtering DIY program needs, executing both regional & local training sessions as well as establishing the program through consistent growth of both sales and clientele.
  • Ensures all technical skillsets, such as measuring clients and suggesting adjustments that are consistently developed and audited to ensure best customer care and to reduce production delays.
  • Demonstrates and shares category knowledge by clearly communicating and managing store teams through the DIY process.
  • Builds strong partnerships with members of the cross-functional teams such as store managers, DIY specialist, buyers, marketing teams and worldwide merchandising.
  • Ensures store teams are optimizing the program by placing, tracking and managing all orders accurately.
  • Creates a seamless experience for the end consumer from order placement to final transaction.
  • Provides a 360 degree approach to ensure consistency across all divisions.
  • Supports cross-functional teams by providing analysis and results, qualitative clientele information and recommends action against the results and follows through on executing this action.
  • Organize in-store events, such as DIY traveling set, to increase program visibility and closely partner with CRM team to improve client acquisition.
  • Support regional specialist by providing inspirational and balanced feedback consistently to position them for success. Consistently keeps Gucci America a leader in the market by providing timely and insightful competitive feedback to direct/indirect reports and worldwide merchandising related to DIY.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of four years of experience in bespoke suiting or made to measure suiting services for a luxury brand or environment.
  • Minimum of four years' experience in a sales management/supervisory role with direct reports.
  • Ability to travel, often at short notice, domestically and internationally at least 50% of the year.
  • Must have excellent technical understanding of made to measure or bespoke services such a garment and client measuring, tailoring and successful point of view on altering garments. Ability to train others
  • Proven success at building a clientele within a luxury apparel environment. Understands clienteling methodology and ability to train others.
  • Proven success at building a luxury apparel business year over year.
  • Proven ability to lead others.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and managing multiple priorities.
  • Top notch training and presentation skills.
  • Superior organizational skills.
  • Able to work adhoc weekends and late nights depending on clientele needs at short notice.
  • Excellent PowerPoint and Excel skills. Retail math skills a plus
  • Fluent in any of the following is not required but a plus: Spanish/French/Portuguese/Italian/Russian/Mandarin
