Account Executive – Handbags, Small Leather Goods & Jewelry

Role Mission

 

The Account Executive Handbags, Small Leather Goods and Jewelry is responsible for managing and growing all specialty stores, department stores, franchisee and e-commerce accounts for the Handbags and Small Leather Good’s collection.  He/She must effectively build collaborative relationships while communicating the Gucci strategy.

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Responsible for the entire Handbags and Small Leather Goods business for department stores, specialty stores, franchisees & e-commerce;
  • Participate in four international markets per year;
  • Present the collection in market to accounts, conveying the collection intent and key concepts;
  • Enter all orders into the Gucci system and follow up with WW Headquarters to confirm receipt of all orders placed;

  • Partner with planning to ensure effective and accurate planning of product category;

  • Work closely with Sales Manager on the strategic process of budget preparation based on sell thru, gross margins, inventory, shipping and competition;

  • Review and analyze weekly delivery and by style selling to pinpoint opportunities and challenges;

  • Monthly review of market shares to benchmark position/trend to directly operated stores;

  • Identify and communicate ongoing trend & market needs to merchandising;

  • Awareness of the competitive environment;

  • Relay all market feedback and order analysis to the Italy merchandising team;

  • Assemble seasonal training manuals and product knowledge materials for all accounts in order to ensure brand identity is upheld;

  • Build collaborative relationships with Gucci employees as well as outside clients;
  • Manage designated sales associate program – interview candidates, train & motivate staff, seasonal conference calls, one on one follow up, track/approve bonus & allowance chargebacks, maintain current and up to date contact file;
  • Store visits followed by shared recap with wholesale team and executives on opportunities/challenges in respective market; 
  • Build relationships with store employees in order to better understand specific market needs;
  • Coordinate with accounts’ marketing departments to promote brand image by forwarding current strategies, advertising campaigns, and press releases;
  • Track & coordinate coop requests;
  • Organize samples needed for photo shoots/client events;
  • Host and organize client trainings/summits;
  • Relay Gucci’s visual merchandising seasonal directives to store managers and associates;
  • Partner with customer service to ensure timely shipments, EDI and pricing adjustments;
  • Coordinate with Italy on the market calendar;
  • Maintain client e-commerce websites, checking for accuracy of product images and descriptions as well as flow of visual merchandising;
  • Liaise with Italy corporate image on all photography and styling to ensure timely delivery of content for client websites;
  • Liaise with directly operated stores on orders, selling and distribution to better understand their strategy and how this could be implemented or used positively in wholesale.
 

 

Key Requirements

  • 3-5 years of previous relevant experience;
  • Strong Excel and retail math skills;
  • Being able to speak in public and in front of large groups of people (summit, market, etc.);
  • Domestic and International Travel as required;
  • Team player;
  • Great communication skills;
  • Ability to multitask.
