Position Summary:

JLL is currently seeking a Business Intelligences Specialist for our Service Quality Program to join our account team in NYC servicing a premier financial services client. 
 
Overview

The BI Specialist has responsibility on an account/platform for data, reporting and analytics processes that touch all aspects of service delivery to be consistent with corporate standards.  The BI Specialist will make use of existing analytic dashboards, as well as develop and maintain new dashboards and reports to enhance the client’s situational awareness and executive decision support for the client. The BI Specialist may also perform ad-hoc business analyses of the client’s real estate IFM portfolio activity, such as site monthly inspection results, 3rd party service provider self-assessment results, operational reactive work order data, and related financial data, ensuring data quality and accuracy.
The role is critical to the success of the client relationship in driving performance management, process improvement and innovation thru fact-based decision making.  Growing analytics capability is an essential deliverable, and direct or indirect management of analyst deliverables may be expected.  

This position provides an opportunity to work in a broad range of areas relating to real estate operations, including facility management and building operations.

Essential Functions

 

  • Principal Task: Build sustainable dashboards and reports, using tools such as Tableau and Microsoft BI stack, that integrate data from across the account to provide superior business and operational insights to the client and to JLL staff
  • Maintain & enhance existing dashboards and reports to respond to changing client needs, software updates, underlying data, etc.
  • Devise and promote creative data visualization to derive actionable intelligence.
  • Develop automated tools and dashboards to provide real-time insights to business data.
  • Use of advanced statistical concepts to determine significant sources of variability.
  • Designing data integration from multiple systems into manageable data warehouses and analytic data models.
  • Consult actively with the JLL on-account Service Quality Program Manager to better understand the client needs for trending results, dashboard and other routine reports
  • Analyze available data to assess completeness, integrity, quality, etc. in order to improve quality of reporting
  • Develop data queries in SQL Server and other programming languages to feed dashboards & reports
  • Develop programming / script in other languages (Python, R, VBA, etc.) to execute and automate data preparation, ad hoc analysis, etc.
  • Collaborate with on-account peers to develop technical skills, improve SQL queries, enhance script/ programming skills, etc.
  • Work with JLL Service Quality Program Manager, other on-account JLL staff, JLL 3rd party service providers and client to assess and import new data sets (JLL, client or external) in a structured process
  • Manage security & access control tools for dashboards; develop ability to manage this across all dashboards
  • Collaborate with JLL staff managing data warehouse to maximize effectiveness of DW and efficiency of dashboards
  • Learn & observe team processes governing dashboard development, data access & integrity, documentation, etc.
  • Translate client business objectives into an information management and business intelligence strategy, which is integrated and consistent at the account management level.
  • Promote and enable the import and export of best practices to and from the account, and link the account to emerging practices in the industry and the BI/data fields.
  • Financial modeling, analysis and compilation of quantitative data.
  • Forecast/trending of performance data.
  • Process mapping and efficiency analysis.
Client Relationship Management
 
  • Lead problem solving team collaboration along with Service Quality Program Manager to develop recommendations based on data interpretation and analysis to transform behaviors and techniques.
  • Deep understanding of contract key performance indicators and reporting requirements and client expectations.
Education and Experience
 
  • Data visualization & statistical applications, beneficial (PowerPivot, SAS, Minitab, Qlikview, Microsoft BI Stack)
  • Experience in working with, building, developing or managing relational databases, beneficial
  • Experience with other languages (Python, R, SAS) beneficial Bachelor’s degree with a quantitative focus (Statistics, Finance, Engineering, Scientific, IT, or related).
  • Master’s degree, beneficial (MBA, or MS in Statistics, Applied Math, or other quantitative field)
  • 4 – 6 years of relevant quantitative work experience
  • Minimum 4 years of experience with data modeling, financial modeling or predictive analytics.
  • 1 – 3 years of experience building & developing dashboards using Tableau software
  • Experience in Facilities Management, Property Management and/or Real Estate Finance desirable
  • Experience with data modeling, financial modeling or predictive analytics
  • Experience with large financial institutions or in consulting environment, beneficial
  • Experience with other
  • Basic programming experience in SQL required (specific knowledge of TSQL beneficial)
  • Consultative working experience beneficial
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
 
  • SharePoint design/ development/ management/ administration experience beneficial
  • Strong quantitative, financial and analytical abilities required
  • Outstanding communications skills required; strong client relationship skills required.

  • Self-starter required, with ability to work independently, manage time responsibly and achieve strategic goals
  • Mastery of Microsoft Office applications required, particularly strong Excel/ analytical skills required.
