Position Summary:

PLEASE NOTE: This is a VIRTUAL, Home Office based position and open to Chicago, San Francisco, Seattle, New Jersey, and New York locations.
 
SUMMARY
The SkySpark Developer will be part of the Energy & Sustainability business supporting JLL’s IoT platform, IntelliCommand, which provides real-time analytics of building performance and energy control utilizing SkySpark®.  The SkySpark Developer will utilize industry leading best practices and tools to continue the enhancement of the analytics, APIs, interface, and data visualization to provide fault detection and diagnostics of building control systems and energy meters.
 
This position is in the Development team that supports IntelliCommand’s long term competitiveness, its ability to provide scale, a quality user experience, leading edge technologies, and cost-effective deployments in support of JLL’s broader integrated facilities management programs.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Develop, test and optimize new analytics using SkySpark. 
  • Create specifications for fault detection and diagnostics of building systems and equipment using sound engineering principles.
  • Create, test and optimize SkySpark custom jobs and API calls.  Debug system performance and problems with SkySpark and Java Virtual Machine tools.
  • Create back-end interfaces from SkySpark to other databases and analytic tools.
  • Develop routines to automatically create Haystack tags for building automation control points and data points.
  • Identify process inefficiencies and suggest improvement strategies for system performance, documentation and performance.
  • Remain up to date on software development best practices and incorporate team feedback to continuously improve quality and efficiency.
  • Comply with standardization of development best practices across all software components.
  • Convert business requirements into functional specifications, communicate design to business owners, achieve consensus, and develop analytics, UI, APIs and software necessary to meet the business requirements.
  • Comply with all team efforts, standards, and SOC2 security requirements to ensure product quality and security.
 
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor Degree in the field of Computer Science, Mechanical, Industrial or Electrical Engineering or 3 years’ experience in related field
  • Experience creating, using and publishing a web service API for consumption by third party organizations.

  • Must be willing to learn additional JLL platforms and services related to IoT strategies on an as-needed basis.

  • Strong communication skills while maintaining professional appearance and conduct.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.  Ability to articulate findings and recommendations to team members and clients.

TRAVEL
  • Able to travel to meetings, authorized seminars, conventions if needed.
  • The estimated travel is no more than 10%.
