Role Mission

 

The Store Planning Project Manager is responsible for the development of freestanding stores in the United States and Canada.  He/she will work closely from the project initiation to store opening with the regional and worldwide store planning teams, Gucci and Kering departments, consultants and contractors in the renovation of existing and/or the development of new stores.

 

Key Accountabilities 

  • Work closely with the Director of Store Planning and possible design architect in the design development of new store locations;
  • Coordinate store layout improvement rollouts;
  • Develop and maintain relationships with tenant coordinators and mall managers in all applicable forms and locations;
  • Coordinate transition of design documents into documents for bid/landlord review/permit with architect of record;
  • Coordinate requirements for security, telephone, and data;
  • Obtain approvals from landlord for preliminary and working drawing reviews;
  • Develop requests for bids as applicable;
  • Develop requests for owner vendor items, such as millwork, specialty lighting, etc.;
  • Review bid proposals and coordinate cost and schedules with vendors and contractors;
  • Develop and maintain cost summary of all project costs which includes the review and approvals of invoices and logging of such into cost summary;
  • Make periodic site visits before and/or during construction of store to ensure standards and design are met;
  • Attend weekly site meetings (on site or phone) throughout project to ensure schedule and design standards are met;
  • Coordinate with local department of buildings for all required certificates and inspections;
  • Coordinate with Vice President of Operations and Director of Store Planning for store openings and provide assistance on site during this transition;
  • Develop punch list and verify all items are corrected in timely manner;
  • Request and obtain letters of lien waivers and comply with landlord’s close out procedures;
  • Develop and issue maintenance manual for Store Manager;
  • Oversee the construction and completion of each location to ensure standards of quality are met in a timely and cost effective manner.

Job Requirements

  • 2 years' experience;
  • BA, MA in Architecture or Interior Design;
  • Luxury retail experience required;
  • Must have good budgeting and general math skills;
  • Excellent attention to detail;
  • Must be deadline-oriented;
  • Good working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint and basic functions of AutoCAD;
  • Good understanding of design drawings and project documentation;
  • Knowledge of standard quality means and materials in construction and millwork;
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Excellent organizational and focusing abilities a must;
  • Frequent travel required.
