Role Objective

 

The Director of Sales is responsible for managing and driving Balenciaga’s business over the course of the next 5 years throughout North America and Mexico.

 

The Director will leverage all wholesale channels with a special focus on the growth of all women’s and men’s categories: RTW, Leather-goods, Shoes.  This position is a key leadership role within the Americas region as well as the global wholesale team, reporting to the President of the Americas and overseeing the team in the Americas.


Responsibilities

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Define the distribution strategy by channel in partnership with the WW Wholesale Director to create and achieve targeted wholesale volume on seasonal basis, within agreed timings. 
  • Collaborate with the major department stores to increase sales, assure brand standards and create a strong, significant partnership befitting a major luxury brand within their portfolio. 
  • Monitor and analyze sell-thru across all distribution channels.
  • Manage and provide direction to Account Executive(s), to ensure all clients are properly supported and adequately stocked on best-selling core items including the correct balance of on-hand inventory. 
  • Communicate to all Americas wholesale clients a clear budget for each season, down to division and category level.
  • Research and visit new potential clients and locations to develop the business. 
  • Management of new openings in liaison with WW Store Planning and Visual Merchandising to ensure all new stores are aligned with brand standards.
  • Partner with Communications department to develop and coordinate special events.
  • Oversee the management of the DSA network throughout our shop-in-shop stores with wholesale partners.
  • Generate a seasonal market report including performance of each major account with regard to both financial and product level results, in addition to analyzing the business.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Minimum of 10 years in U.S. luxury wholesale with existing relationships with senior management in all major luxury department stores.
  • Proven ability to maximize sales and leverage business development opportunities.
  • Strong leadership presence and people management skills with a preference for collaboration yet also able to work autonomously.
  • Ability to lead and drive change in a global organization with exemplary verbal and written communication skills, across all levels of the organization.
  • Adept in balancing a strategic approach to the business and also being hands-on in overseeing the day-to-day operations.
  • Proven expertise in the luxury Women’s leather goods categories and knowledge of shoe and RTW distribution network is essential.
  • Possess elevated taste level to ensure appropriate brand representation.
  • Capable of frequent travel domestically and internationally.
