Position Summary:
Senior Analyst / Consultant
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Support all levels of transaction activity, including deal pursuit, assignment engagement, and transaction execution, for prospects and clients (inclusive of both Tenants/Occupiers and Landlords/Owners) of the New York Brokerage Operations.
• Support strategic planning activities by providing financial analysis, financial reporting, strategy development, tactical implementation and special projects as assigned in order to support decision making by client management groups.
• Produce financial models and other analyses for transactions of varying complexity to support the negotiation of lease and ownership terms with third parties; including both cash (pre and post-tax) and GAAP projections. Transaction analysis capabilities are required for both acquisition and disposition projects that include but is not limited to the following:
o Lease comparisons
o Lease restructures
o Lease versus own
o Sublease scenarios
o Build-to-suit transactions
o Sale leaseback scenarios
o Buyout/termination scenarios
• Gather and evaluate economic, demographic and real estate market data.
• Assist in the preparation of proposals, client memorandums and white papers, presentations and reports.
• Analyze portfolio-wide occupancy data and determine trends and opportunities.
• Prepare lease abstracts and collect transaction comps to be used in financial analyses or included in reports to client’s management.
• Analyze financing/debt documents and financial statements to support project analysis.
• Prep for / attend meetings (existing and prospective clients)
• Partner / collaborate with brokerage professionals at all phases of the transaction process.
• Support senior analysts / consultants and have willingness to work long hours on an as-needed basis
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• BA/BS degree in Economics, Business Finance and/or Real Estate with a strong record of academic achievement and demonstrated quantitative skills; Related Master’s degree a plus
• 2-4 years professional experience within a commercial real estate services firm OR a clear demonstration of the ability to learn and adapt quickly.
• Strong understanding of financial concepts required; Understanding of accounting practices and familiarity with the concepts of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) a plus.
• Highly developed verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint required, Argus a plus.
• Professional, high energy individual with strong presentation skills.
• Attention to detail; ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Self‐motivated, able to work with limited direction and oversight
